The timeline for removing specific search results depends on each website’s own data removal policies—some sites act fast, while others may take a bit longer.
A few important things to know:
- DeleteMe works directly with data broker sites: We target the original source that holds your info. You will find the list of sites covered under the standard plans here
- Search engines, like Google for example, doesn’t control the data: Search engines like Google simply index what’s already online—they don’t host or remove the info themselves. To remove something from Google search results, the data must be deleted from the source site first.
- How long does it take? After we get your info removed from a site, Google and other search engines usually update their results within 3 to 4 weeks.
- Special requests: If a site isn’t included with standard DeleteMe coverage, let us know. We’ll do our best to help!
