Each data broker moves at its own pace. Some remove your info immediately after we submit an opt‑out; others take weeks. About seven business days after you sign up, you’ll get your first Privacy Report showing where we found your data and what we’re doing about it. Keep in mind that that’s a status update, not proof everything’s gone yet.
We do however, keep working and monitoring until removals are confirmed.
What affects timing
- Site policies and workload: Some brokers process instantly; others batch requests weekly or monthly.
- Verification steps: Email/SMS or ID checks can add days.
- Manual review gates: Certain sites throttle or hand-review opt-outs.
What you’ll see from us
- First Privacy Report (~7 business days): Where we found your data and actions underway.
- Ongoing updates: We notify you as removals complete and keep monitoring for reappearances.
In our Free DIY Opt-Out Guides, we’ve broken down the opt-out processes for each data broker website, where we rank both opt-out “speed” and opt-out “difficulty”, 1-5, for each opt-out process:
- 1 = Immediate removal or easiest to opt-out
- 5 = 7+ days for removal or hardest to opt-out
Example opt-out scores
This helps set expectations for each site’s speed and difficulty.
Why things can reappear
- New data keeps getting generated from public records and everyday sign-ups, which can repopulate brokers even after successful removals. We clear those as they show up.
What you can do
- As a rule: be careful who you supply your contact information to — you’d be surprised how often your information is collected. Be selective with your contact info on sign-ups, “free lookups,” sweepstakes, and partner newsletters.
- Approve legitimate verification emails from brokers promptly to avoid delays.
