Overview
The Offboarding feature allows administrators to remove a member from the team, immediately freeing up their subscription seat for another user. The offboarded member enters a 24-hour grace period during which the action can be canceled. After this period, the member is permanently removed from the team's dashboard. The member’s dependents will be offboarded as well. It then converts them to an individual DeleteMe account with a 30-day free trial.
Scheduling Offboarding
For a single member
1. Go to Members and open the member's detail page.
2. Scroll to the Account Removal section.
3. Click "Schedule Offboarding"
4. In the confirmation dialog, type "OFFBOARD" to confirm.
For multiple members
1. Go to Members and select up to 5 members with the checkboxes.
2. Choose "Schedule Offboarding" from the bulk actions menu.
3. Confirm.
Each selected member will be scheduled for offboarding.
Canceling a Scheduled Offboarding
Within the 24-hour window:
1. Open the member's detail page, and a warning banner shows the scheduled removal time.
2. Click Cancel Offboarding
The member is restored to Active status, and the offboarding schedule is cleared. Any bundled dependents are restored too.
Complimentary Coverage After Offboarding (30-Day Trial)
Members who registered an account (i.e., accepted their invitation and logged in at least once) are eligible to continue with an individual DeleteMe subscription on a 30-day free trial, at no cost to you.
How it works:
When you schedule offboarding, the platform emails the member at their corporate address, asking them to provide a personal email.
Once the member submits a personal email, they will receive a verification link at that address. After they confirm the verification, they will receive a migration email with a link to DeleteMe's customer portal to manage their subscription.
When the 24-hour window elapses, the 30-day free trial begins.
If no personal email is provided:
The member remains deactivated at the 24-hour mark, and no complimentary account is provided.
Proactive setup:
Members can set a Portability Email in advance under Settings → Account → Profile. If set, this email is used automatically, and the "provide a personal email" request is skipped.
